Course Goal / Objective
The primary objective of this course is to equip students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and fundamental practical skills in film production. Students develop an understanding of pre-production, production, and post-production processes, gaining insight into set organization and the professional roles in the film industry. Throughout the course, students learn to create essential production documents, plan basic production workflows, and apply cinematographic continuity principles. The first half of the semester is dedicated to theoretical discussions and industry analysis, while the second half involves basic scene shooting exercises and the development of a film production file. The final assessment includes a pitching presentation of the students' film production files.
Course Content
This course provides a comprehensive examination of film production processes, enabling students to understand the fundamental stages of filmmaking. Covering pre-production, production, and post-production phases through both theoretical and practical approaches, the course explores set organization and professional roles within the film industry in detail. Students acquire conceptual knowledge of each stage of production while engaging in hands-on scene shooting and editing exercises to reinforce fundamental cinematic skills. In the latter part of the semester, students are divided into small teams to prepare a film production file for a project they will execute in the following semester. The course concludes with a pitching presentation where students present their projects.
