Course Goal / Objective
The general aim of this course is to provide preservice teachers with the knowledge and application skills about the scope and importance of science education in preschool education and the methods used in science education.
Course Content
Definition and importance of science education in early childhood; principles and standards in science education; scientific process skills; nature of science and pedagogical content knowledge; scientific thinking skills; inquiry-based science education and socioscientific issues; use of technology and coding in science education; organising environment in science education; approaches used in early childhood science education (project and STEM), methods-techniques (experiment, drama, concept maps etc.); planning, implementation and evaluation of science activities.
