Course Goal / Objective

Form the necessary background for understanding properties, differences of gene and genome structure and understanding the relationship with diseases.

Course Content

Gene structure, active genes, evolution of genes with introns, Evolution and Exons, Domain, Species complexity and Gene number, Essential gene number and its importance. The relationship between protein size and genome and complexity, genome structure, genome, transcriptome, proteome and protein protein interaction concepts, genomic size, human genome, genomics and proteomics, protein properties and proteomics, Why Proteome, The relationship between homology and protein structure and function, applications in proteomics and medicine, proteome studies and stages, proteome techniques,
