Course Goal / Objective
Dangerous goods are transported all over the world using many different modes of transportation. The transport of dangerous goods often starts by road, continues to a port via rail, crosses to another continent, and may proceed to another country by air. During transportation, various hazards may arise, leading to potential issues. For this reason, the transportation of such materials must be carried out according to universally regulated laws and rules. On the other hand, dangerous substances and preparations, in accordance with the provisions of the Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulation, can only be placed on the market after being packaged in a way that prevents them from leaking, spilling, or contaminating beyond their packaging under normal storage and transportation conditions.The purpose of this course is to teach the general and specific rules involved in the transportation of dangerous chemical substances, both nationally and internationally, the risks arising during the transportation and storage of these chemicals, and the fundamental principles of safe storage of dangerous goods.
Course Content
Within the scope of this course: Topics such as international agreements regarding the transportation of dangerous goods, the scope of ADR, the obligation to obtain permits, general properties of dangerous goods (chemicals) and specific rules for their transportation, the responsibilities of the sender, loader, and packager, penal provisions, the selection of appropriate transportation modes for dangerous and special substances, the use of markings, packaging instructions, and labeling will be taught. In addition, the course will also cover the general characteristics of storage volumes, general rules to be followed in places where dangerous goods are stored and produced, definitions of hazardous zones, and restrictions within those hazardous zones.
