Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to theoretically examine experimental spinal cord injury (SCI) models and nerve repair mechanisms. It covers the anatomical and histological effects of spinal cord trauma, types of experimental models (transection, crush, contusion, etc.), motor function recovery, regenerative treatments, and clinical implications. The course also focuses on injury mechanisms, fundamental principles of nerve regeneration, the clinical translation process, and the evaluation of current therapeutic strategies.

Course Content

This course analyzes the anatomical, histological, and physiological effects of experimental spinal cord injury (SCI) models and addresses nerve repair processes from a theoretical perspective. It discusses how spinal cord injuries are studied in experimental animal models, as well as innovative approaches such as biological and pharmacological agents supporting nerve regeneration, tissue engineering, and gene therapy. By the end of the course, students will evaluate how findings from experimental models can be translated into clinical applications.

Course Precondition
