Course Goal / Objective

The objectives of this course are to teach the physiological processes and quality changes in horticultural postharvest; to analyze quality losses that occur during harvesting, packaging, storage, and transportation; and to ensure the correct treatment of modern post-harvest technologies (cold chain, MAP, edible coatings, etc.).

Course Content

In this course, respiration and water loss in horticultural products after harvest, metabolic events during growth, maturation and aging, warehouse equipment, different storage techniques and pre-cooling will be discussed.
