Course Goal / Objective
This course focuses on analyzing price dynamics in financial and commodity markets using advanced econometric techniques. It covers the detection of speculative bubbles via the GSADF framework and the modeling of structural changes using Fourier-based methods.
Course Content
GSADF, Speculative Bubbles, Fourier Unit Root Tests, Structural Breaks, Commodity Price Dynamics, Explosive Processes, Fourier-ARDL Model, Date-Stamping Strategy, Flexible Fourier Form, Financial Econometrics, Nonlinear Time Series, Rational Bubble Theory, Smooth Transition Changes, Causality in Frequency Domain, Monte Carlo Simulation.
