Course Goal / Objective

By the end of this course, it is aimed for students to acquire practical knowledge in fruit growing, open-field and greenhouse vegetable cultivation, viticulture, ornamental plant cultivation, and postharvest physiology, as well as to learn the establishment of orchards/vineyards and cultural practices and the determination of product quality characteristics. Additionally, under the joint internship protocol, students are expected to gain general knowledge of the activities conducted in the Department of Plant Protection and the Faculty of Agriculture Research and Application Farm, thereby developing the ability to conduct multidisciplinary studies. Each week, one student is enabled to lead their group peers, and one week of the course is dedicated to practicing giving and receiving instructions. Thus, it is aimed to instil leadership and instructional management skills in students. Furthermore, within the framework of this course, our students receive 'Coaching Training' from professional coaches.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, students are provided with practical training under field conditions on topics such as propagation and cultivation of horticultural crops, establishment of vineyards, orchards, and greenhouses, cultural practices, production methods, harvesting, and cold-storage. Furthermore, under the joint internship protocol, students are introduced to the application fields of the Department of Plant Protection and the various branches of the Faculty of Agriculture Research and Application Farm.
