Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the ability to apply philosophical knowledge and methods to the understanding and resolution of individual and social issues. The course aims to demonstrate that philosophy is not merely a theoretical field, but also offers a way of thinking that can guide practical aspects of life. In this context, students develop their skills in critical thinking, conceptual analysis and dialogue, thereby learning about and applying a philosophical counselling approach.
Course Content
The definition and historical development of philosophical counselling; conceptions of the ‘good life’ in ancient philosophy; the practical dimension of philosophy in the modern era; methods and techniques of philosophical counselling; skills in asking questions and engaging in dialogue; ethical issues and value conflicts; the philosophical analysis of personal life issues; discussion of topics such as meaning, identity and the purpose of life; case studies and practical applications.
