Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable graduate students to become familiar with alternative teaching approaches in German language education and to evaluate these approaches within the context of digitalization. It also aims to develop students’ ability to integrate alternative methods with digital tools and AI-supported applications, and to design instructional activities that support the development of language skills.
Course Content
This course addresses alternative teaching approaches and digitalization processes in German language education. Within the scope of the course, methods such as Suggestopedia, Total Physical Response, the Silent Way, Community Language Learning, and Fremdsprachenwachstum are examined, and their applications in teaching German are evaluated. The integration of these approaches into digital learning environments, online platforms, and AI-supported tools is also discussed. In addition, the role of digital tools, online learning environments, interactive applications, and AI-supported instructional processes in the development of language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) is evaluated.
