Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary techniques, tools, and production approaches in the field of digital illustration, while enabling them to develop original digital illustration projects in line with their individual interests and research orientations. The course also examines the technical processes and production practices of digital illustration artists from a critical perspective, with the goal of enhancing students’ creative production skills as well as their capacity to contribute to academic research and the relevant literature.
Course Content
Within the scope of the course, fundamental theoretical approaches to digital illustration and contemporary techniques are addressed; a term project is defined in line with the student’s areas of interest and its process is structured; a systematic literature review is conducted on the production practices of selected digital illustration artist(s); relevant sample works are critically examined in terms of their technical, aesthetic, and conceptual dimensions; and these analyses are transferred into the applied production process.
