Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to enhance students’ theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary techniques, tools, and production approaches in the field of digital illustration, while enabling them to develop original digital illustration projects in line with their individual interests and research orientations. The course also critically examines the technical processes and production practices of digital illustration artists in order to improve students’ creative production skills as well as their capacity to contribute to academic research and the relevant literature.
Course Content
Within the scope of the course, fundamental theoretical approaches and contemporary techniques related to digital illustration are examined; the project topic and process are determined and structured; a systematic literature review is conducted on the production practices of selected digital illustration artist(s); relevant works are critically analyzed in terms of their technical, aesthetic, and conceptual dimensions; these analyses are integrated into the practical production process; and a written text is developed based on the conducted readings and a selected digital illustration problem.
