Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop the knowledge and experience they have acquired in ceramic production processes and to produce original and cohesive artistic projects. Within this scope, students are expected to deepen their personal language of expression, reconstruct their production processes within a conceptual framework, and adopt a research-based approach.

Course Content

This course covers an advanced studio process aimed at developing individual modes of expression in ceramic production. Students engage with the relationships between material, form, and surface through more experimental approaches, producing either a single work or a cohesive body of work consisting of multiple pieces. Throughout the process, emphasis is placed on developing a conceptual framework, deepening the production process, and critically evaluating the resulting works.

Course Precondition

Notes

The resources to be used within the scope of this course include theoretical, practical, and visual materials that support advanced production processes in ceramic art. Theses, academic articles, artist monographs, exhibition catalogs, and periodicals contribute to the development of students’ work within a conceptual framework. In addition, digital archives, portfolio websites, and video content of contemporary ceramic artists provide opportunities to examine diverse approaches to production. Studies conducted through virtual museum and gallery platforms support students in comparatively evaluating national and international ceramic practices.
