Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to equip students with the conceptual, theoretical, and methodological knowledge necessary for staging Turkish folk dances.

Course Content

This course will examine the process of performing Turkish folk dances within the context of the performing arts. The history of staging Turkish folk dances will be studied through selected examples from ethnochoreological perspectives. In this context, the origins, characteristics, and developmental process of Turkish folk dances will be evaluated within a theoretical framework. The impact of these variables on the construction and representation processes of Turkish folk dances will be discussed, integrated from an artistic point of view.
