Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to discuss the principles and theories of media literacy, to examine the relationship between media literacy and critical thinking, and to determine the place of media literacy in Turkish language courses.

Course Content

The field of media and media literacy encompasses the information society and media literacy; media tools (television, newspapers, magazines, internet, social media, etc.); critical reading, critical listening, and watching; evaluation and analysis of messages; and the examination of media products such as TV commercials, newspaper articles, TV programs, and web content.
