Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to evaluate stress through biopsychosocial perspectives, recognize stress symptoms, explain stress coping theories and methods, and develop effective stress management skills in their personal and professional lives. The course also aims to strengthen students’ mindfulness, emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, relaxation, and psychological resilience skills.
Course Content
This course covers the definition, physiology, psychological and social dimensions of stress, stress theories, individual differences, stress symptoms, and assessment methods. It also includes problem-focused and emotion-focused coping methods, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, breathing exercises, cognitive restructuring, time management, communication skills, psychological resilience, and stress management in professional life. Practical activities are included to improve students’ stress coping skills in daily life and clinical settings.
