Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to equip students with the ability to interpret trends, conduct trend analysis, and develop future-oriented design foresight through AI-supported and data-driven methods in fashion and textile design. The course focuses on improving students’ competencies in digital data collection, AI-assisted visual and textual analysis, transforming trend data into design processes, and developing critical perspectives. In addition, the transformation of the contemporary fashion system is discussed within the contexts of sustainability, ethics, and digital culture, encouraging students to develop interdisciplinary design thinking.
Course Content
The course covers the concept of trends, trend formation processes within the fashion system, micro, macro, and mega trend analyses, data collection and interpretation methods, AI-supported analysis techniques, prompt design, visual and textual data generation, the role of digital platforms in trend dissemination, the transformation of trends into design processes, and sustainability-oriented trend evaluations. The course includes theoretical knowledge, practical analysis studies, digital visualization processes, project development, and critical presentation stages.
