Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to equip students with the ability to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve processes in textile production systems. Students will learn lean production tools and be able to apply them in real manufacturing environments.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental principles and practical tools of lean manufacturing aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste in textile production processes. It introduces the role and importance of lean thinking in the textile industry. Students learn to distinguish between value-added and non-value-added activities, analyze types of waste, and apply process improvement techniques. Key lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), SMED, and Poka-Yoke are covered both theoretically and through practical applications. In addition, process analysis, workflow optimization, productivity measurement, and continuous improvement practices in textile production lines are examined through case studies. The course aims to equip students with problem-solving and improvement proposal skills in real or simulated production environments.
