Course Goal / Objective

In this course, it is aimed to provide students with the ability to perform periodic maintenance of machines and to detect faults, identify their causes, and troubleshoot them.

Course Content

1. Daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual machine maintenance; 2. Points to consider in maintenance work; 3. Fault detection, causes and troubleshooting; 4. Definition, maintenance and faults of industrial valves, bearings and air compressors; 5. Definition and importance of lubrication.

LO11 Explains the importance of lubrication in machines, types of lubricants, and how to select the appropriate lubricant according to the machine.
LO12 Explains the four important factors of effective and error-free lubrication.
LO13 Knows the definition and importance of bearings and their lubrication periods, and applies them as preventive maintenance.
LO14 Explains the meaning of predictive maintenance and the methods used in practice.
