General Information
This programme studies land and water resources for sustainable use, development and reclaim in a very important place in agricultural activities. The program offers education, training and research about irrigation, drainage, land reclamation, agricultural construction, agricultural hydrology, soil and water conservation engineering, land consolidation, rural settlement planning. Organising courses and seminars for technical staff working in agricultural enterprises is a major part of the work of the program. Seven Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, 4 Research Assistants are currently working in the program.

Feature & Definition
Agricultural Structures and Irrigation master’s programme studies can be best described as to get benefit from soil and water resources by economic and efficient methods and to conserve them together with development activities in agricultural operations, to take some measures in order to develop agricultural operations in terms of economical and physical aspects in the long term. Education, research and extension issues related with farm structures and irrigation studies have been conducted at the Agricultural Faculty of all the Universities in Turkey. In other words, this progrmme is in charge of providing education and conducting research in the issues of irrigation, drainage, end soil reclamation, agricultural structures and hydrology, soil and water conservation engineering, rural settlement and land consolidation , all of which play very important role in agriculture on the proper use of soil and water resources, their development and protection, and reclamation where needed. Department has soil and water analysis laboratory, automatic monitoring station, two research greenhouses and weighing lysimeter.

Goals
The aim of the course is to provide training, research and service about optimum utilization of water and soil resources, protection and development of water and soil resources, design and construction of various stages of production, development of agricultural enterprises in a structural and physical way with modern technology, development of irrigation and drainage systems, water distribution modernization of agricultural networks, design of agricultural structures according to technological innovations, investigation of the possibilities of electronic use in agriculture and development of plant-speaking systems in our country, making agricultural production plans with the help of satellite imagery, remote sensing techniques and determination of stress conditions due to water and water with the help of geographic information systems and early warning development of systems, climate change approaches and their importance for agriculture and development of rural area and regional planning concepts preparing the databases of the national areas and the establishment of the information system at the parcel level in agriculture, remote sensing, geographic information system and global positioning systems to bring new expansions to the approaches of precision agriculture, development of drought models, determination of the relationship between global warming and agricultural production, determination of the responses of the agricultural areas to global warming has aimed to provide education, research and services in the field of land consolidation projects.
Objectives
the program is to train engineers who is able to use computer and information technologies related to the Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Science able to make independent research depending on the recent developments and requirements, group work prone, able to think analytical, have designing knowledge and experience, able to define problems, develop possible solutions according to the principles of various information, able to obtain knowledge of certain subjects, compile that knowledge and have the ability to present compiled information in front of a community, able to service both domestically and abroad.
Specific Admission Requirements
The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

Qualification Requirements of Graduation
This program consists of at least seven credit courses with a total of not less than 21 credits, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis. Seminar course and thesis work are not included in the credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. A master's program with thesis consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, at least eight courses including the seminar course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term (total of fall and spring semesters). Provided that he/she is successful in the thesis exam, makes the changes requested by the jury, if any, and fulfills other conditions, the student who submits three more copies of the master's thesis, written and bound in accordance with the thesis writing rules, to the relevant institute within one month from the date of taking the thesis examination, with a thesis. graduate diploma is awarded.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency.
