Course Goal / Objective
Biological and physiological factors such as alternate bearing, parthenocarpy, apomixis, seedlessness, sterility and incompatibility, flower and fruit drops, physiological disorders (splitting, granulation and ageing, etc) in subtropical and tropical climate fruits are discussed and and the methods of solving these problems are learned.
Course Content
This lecture will cover serious biological and physiological factors such as alternate bearing, parthenocarpy, apomixis, seedlessness, sterility and incompatibility, flower and fruit drops, granulation and ageing, physiological disorders in subtropical and tropical climate fruits. Besides, some of the important cultural practices such as pruning, girdling, bending, fruit thinning, plant growth regulators will be discussed in order to deal with those biological and physiological irregularities.
